Project Overview and Inspiration
Introduction: My name is Aarav, and I’ve been fortunate enough to play the beautiful game of soccer for the last 10 years. Currently, I represent Tampa Bay United in the U16 MLS NEXT program, which has given me countless opportunities to grow as a player and person.
Why This Project? Throughout my soccer journey, I’ve come to realize how impactful this sport can be, not just for personal development but for building community and creating valuable connections. However, many young athletes face barriers to entry, especially when they lack the proper equipment. Inspired by my love for soccer and the opportunities it has brought me, I wanted to create a project that would give back to the community by providing cleats and equipment to those who need them most.
My Vision: Cleats for a cause aims to ensure that all kids, regardless of their background, can experience the joy and benefits of playing soccer. By partnering with local clubs and organizing donation drives, I hope to make a meaningful difference in the lives of aspiring players.
Our Mission
Growing up with soccer as a central part of my life has been a gift, shaping who I am today. But not everyone is as fortunate. During my travels to India and Kenya, I witnessed firsthand the passion for the game shared by kids who lacked basic equipment- kids who played with socks as balls and shared one worn out sandal. It was a powerful reminder of how opportunities aren’t equally distributed, and that passion alone isn’t always enough to make dreams possible. The core mission of this project is to bridge that gap. By collecting and donating soccer cleats and equipment, we aim to empower children who might otherwise be unable to fully enjoy the sport.
Why This Matters
